The Fermi Paradox:

If the universe is teeming with life, then where is everybody?

galaxy

“Where are they?” asked physicist Enrico Fermi about extraterrestrials.

Lets start with the premise that there are about 250 billion stars in our Milky Way galaxy and many of these stars are billions of years older than the earth and have intelligent life on earth-like planets. These intelligent civilizations could be a billion years ahead of our technology and capable of completely exploring our galaxy within a few million years. If this is true, why haven’t we found these extraterrestrial explorers? The SETI project has been searching for these extraterrestrials for decades and has found only silence. Why?

Is the premise of many intelligent civilizations wrong? Could we be the only intelligent life in our galaxy?
